The veteran receiver had singled in a run to cut the Dodgers' lead to 2-1 and was removed after advancing to second base on Jeff Francoeur's fielder's choice grounder. He was replaced by Henry Blanco.

Barajas entered the game batting .226 with 12 home runs and 33 runs batted in.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
